AI Environments: PyTorch and Container Technologies

11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Join Research Infrastructure Services (RIS) for a specialized technical workshop: AI Environments: PyTorch and Container Technologies. Discussions will bridge the gap between “it works on my laptop” and “it scales on the cluster.”

What you will learn:

  • Singularity/Apptainer Fundamentals: Why containers are the gold standard for reproducible research.
  • Containers on RIS: How to pull, build, and execute Apptainer images specifically on our Compute2infrastructure.
  • Introduction to PyTorch: Training your first Deep Learning model

Why attend:
By learning Apptainer and PyTorch, you can package your entire software stack into a single file. Bring your existing software environment setup to the RIS Compute2 platform with ease so that your PyTorch code runs exactly the same on Compute2 as it does on your workstation.

Registration required. This training will take place on Zoom; you will automatically receive a calendar invite that includes the Zoom link after registration.
