Patient Portal Communication Initiative Convening

Join us to develop solutions for transforming communication about lab and imaging results sent through the patient portal. This gathering will bring together an interdisciplinary group, including experts in health communication, health literacy, and informatics; clinical team members; and patient and community experts from across WashU, BJC, and the St. Louis region. Attendees will work together to develop templates and implementation processes for improving how clinical results are shared in patient portals 

The agenda will include: 

  1. A panel discussion moderated by Mary C. Politi, PhD, with panelists Bryan Sisk, MD, MSCI, Milan Chheda, MD, Thomas Maddox, MD, MSc, and patient partners reviewing challenges and opportunities related to this topic from a clinician, patient, and informatics perspective (virtual option available for the panel discussion) 
  1. Facilitated, table-based discussions reflecting on proposed interventions, brainstorming implementation options, and discussing the role of emerging technologies in this area (e.g., generative AI) 

Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. All programming is free to attend.
