Survey on Proposed Uniform Guidance Changes

On May 29, 2026, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed significant revisions to the Uniform Guidance. The changes are vast and will not only impact research grants, but also Medicaid, transportation, education, food assistance and FEMA disaster recovery grants.

WashU is forming an institutional response to the federal government. We invite you to share your feedback, including comments, concerns, and specific examples, via this survey to help shape the response. Responses are due by Friday, June 12, 2026 at 5 p.m., but please submit your feedback as soon as possible.

This survey summarizes several of the most consequential proposed changes and seeks your perspective on their potential impacts on research operations, compliance, financial management, workforce support, scientific collaboration, and overall research productivity.

There is also an optional section to comment on the NIH’s Request for Information (RFI): Proposal to Cap the Number of Simultaneous Research Project Grants per Principal Investigator to Support More Researchers and Maximize Scientific Productivity and Innovation.

The survey may take 10 to 15 minutes to complete or longer for more detailed comments. All responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate form. Individual responses will not be attributed to any respondent.
