NSF GRFP Fellowship Writing Workshop – Part 1

9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

This is part 1 of a 3-part series for the NSF GRFP Fellowship Writing Workshop.There are two options to complete Part 1. You may attend the live session on August 4th via Zoom, or you may watch the recording of that session once it has been completed.

Registering for this class means you will attend the live presentation “NSF/Early Graduate Student Grant Writing Workshop” by Joseph Jez, PhD, Professor & Chair of Biology on August 4, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Once you have completed parts 1 and 2 of this workshop series, and uploaded your summary, you will then be eligible to register for part 3 of the series (the faculty-led small group discussions). The registration links for part 3 will be shared with eligible individuals on Monday, September 7th.

recommended tasks from August – October 2026.

  • Now: Registration is open!
  • Parts 1, 2, and a summary of your project must be completed by September 6, 2026.
  • Registration links for Part 3 will be emailed on September 7, 2026, directly to those completing all prerequisites.
  • Part 3, the small groups will begin meeting September 10.
  • Application Deadlines: Anticipated deadlines are mid-October 2026. Deadlines will be announced on the NSF’s GRFP website.
