Join the Office of Technology Management (OTM) for OTM Office Hours: Practice Makes the Perfect Pitch 

Mastering a business pitch requires preparation and practice, practice and more practice. Come and hear from WashU startup founders and OTM experts about the needed skills to master the perfect pitch for your startup. 

Those trained in science are taught to communicate with rigor, novelty, and contribution to knowledge.  A pitch to an investor asks for something quite different: in roughly ten slides, you need to name a real market problem, position your technology as the solution, and show how it outclasses what’s already on offer. The esteemed panel has lived through that arc — from pre-company formation through active investor engagement — and will share what the journey has actually taught them.
