RMS Upgrade – December 2025

The Research Management System (RMS) upgrade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Users will not be allowed to access RMS after 4 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. All RMS activity required for applications that are due December 12-14 must be completed by 4 p.m. on Friday, December 12.

On Monday, December 15, you will be able to access the upgraded version of RMS.

Important information about S2S submissions that are due December 12-14:   

  • These must be submitted to the agency and error free before 4 p.m. on Friday, December 12.
  • Proposals not submitted and/or error free will not be able to be submitted until Monday, December 15, at which time the agency would consider them late.
  • Please route for Partial and Full reviews before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9.
  • Please route for Final review before 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 11.

Upgrade Notable Changes: 

  • Human Subjects Clinical Trials (HSCT) tab
    • Users will be able to download, enter data, and upload the study record for System To System (S2S) submissions. This will allow users to send the form to other individuals for completion.  
  • Budget tab
    • On the Budget Detail tab, a personnel cost issue on proposals with mid-month project periods will be resolved.
    • “Process” and “Close” buttons will be available when importing subaward budgets from Adobe forms.
  • Personnel tab
    • File “upload” and “remove” icons will align correctly with the headers.
  • PC Form tab
    • Intermittent issue where the tab was not accessible will be resolved.
  • Drag & Drop upload functionality will be added to additional places throughout RMS.
  • Most required fields will have enhanced formatting (e.g. red font) when not answered.
  • RMS Home Page
    • “Search for Items” field will be labeled “Locate Records”
    • “Things to Do” will be labeled “Assignments”
    • For Assistance section

Possible Issues and Work-Arounds: 

  • The WU Setup Questions tab has additional white space at the bottom of the screen. The content ends with the Export Controls section. 
  • The WU Full Review Docs tab has extra white space at the bottom of the screen. The content ends with the boxes around NAME and ATTACHMENT.
  • Throughout other areas of RMS there will be additional white spaces. This may be less noticeable while working on larger screens.

Attend the informational session about the upcoming upgrade. (This session will cover the same material that was presented on Thursday, December 4, 2025; 10 -11:30 a.m. Participants need to only attend one session.)
