WashU is offering a Fellowship Writing Workshop Series for students who plan to apply for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) in October 2026 (due dates are subject to change). Attendees will learn about and practice writing all the relevant elements of a GRFP proposal.
The Fellowship Writing Workshop Series consists of three parts:

Part 2
Write and Refine Components of Your GRFP Application

- After completing Parts 1 and 2, you MUST upload a short summary of your project into Workday Learning.
Part 3*
Participate in faculty-led small group discussions, reviewing and revising the materials you have written
for your application.
Registration links for Part 3 will be emailed directly to those who have completed all prerequisites.
- Prerequisites include Part 1 and Part 2 (including uploading a summary of your project in Workday Learning). No exceptions are offered to attend Part 3 without completing Parts 1 and 2.
Timeline

recommended tasks from August – October 2026.
- Now: Registration is open!
- Parts 1, 2, and a summary of your project must be completed by September 6, 2026.
- Registration links for Part 3 will be emailed on September 7, 2026, directly to those completing all prerequisites.
- Part 3, the small groups will begin meeting September 10.
- Application Deadlines: Anticipated deadlines are mid-October 2026. Deadlines will be announced on the NSF’s GRFP website.
