As previously announced, NIH’s Forms-H application package is being replaced by the new FORMS-I application package, effective for deadlines on or after January 25, 2025.
The WashU Research Management System (RMS) has been updated to accommodate System To System (S2S) applications to NIH using FORMS-I, in addition to FORMS-H.
Below is a list of details.
- FORMS-I are required for due dates on or after January 25, 2025.
- FORMS-H are required for due dates on or before January 24, 2025.
- For a transition period, both FORMS-H and FORMS-I application packages will be active simultaneously. Applicants must choose the appropriate application package for their due date when presented with both FORMS-H and FORMS-I application packages on the same FOA. This will be the case for using RMS/S2S, ASSIST and Workspace.

The following application forms include substantive form changes (i.e., new/deleted/modified fields). All other forms include only an OMB expiration date change.

Key Changes
- A new attachment field for the Recruitment Plan to Enhance Diversity on the PHS 398 Research Training Program Plan. See Updates to NIH Institutional Training Grant Applications for Due Dates on or After January 25, 2025 for detailed information.
